And such incidents can happen up to five times a day from 5am to midnight, according to what the irate residents of Block 420 Bedok North Street 1 told Lianhe Wanbao.

Resident in units on the fourth to 11th storeys blame a woman in her mid-40s, who lives on the eighth floor.

Neighbours claimed that she has been seen holding a blue pail filled with liquid, walking up and down along the corridors of her block.

When told of her neighbours' accusations, the woman, who refused to be identified or photographed, told a Lianhe Wanbao reporter: 'I am not so free as to do such a thing.'

URINE STAINS

A 21-year-old factory operator, Mr Zhuang, who lives on the same storey as the woman, said his main door was stained with urine less than a day after he moved in two months ago.

Mr Zhuang first detected the smell around 6.30am when he opened his door.

He said: 'The urine was splashed on my door. The smell of urine penetrated the living room from the main door. It was unbearable.'

Two days later, Mr Zhuang found dirty water splashed on the door when he returned from work.

Last Wednesday, he trailed the woman and said he saw her carrying a blue pail filled with liquid.

Mr Zhuang then claimed she splashed the liquid at the door of a unit on a lower floor.

He added: 'I do not know what the liquid was, but she behaved in a suspicious manner. For no reason, she carried the pail out from her flat.'

Another resident reportedly witnessed the woman committing the act and scolding that particular neighbour at the same time.

Residents Lianhe Wanbao spoke to said the woman had been seen collecting hair from a beauty salon nearby, and hiding behind walls to eavesdrop on her neighbours' conversations.

They also claimed to have heard the woman laughing hysterically while walking home.

Other bizarre behaviour: Walking up and down the common corridors at 5am and violently thumping on the floor in her flat while mumbling to herself.

POLICE VISITS

The woman has also been known to reprimand neighbours, only to apologise later because she had 'identified the wrong person'.

According to residents, police have visited her flat several times.

She is fluent in English, and also speaks Hokkien and Cantonese.

She called the Lianhe Wanbao reporter who visited her a busybody.

The woman added that she had been living in her flat for a long time without any trouble with her neighbours, except for a few who were out to ruin her reputation.

After the Wanbao reporter left, the woman stood at her window and scolded neighbours for 'bringing a reporter'.

She later ran up one storey where she found the reporter, and accused her of being a bad person.
