Property seminar by Far East Organization and Today, a first for the industry Friday ? October 13, 2006 ? Shobha Tsering Bhalla SINGAPORE'S largest private developer Far East Organization, in conjunction with Today and DBS Bank, is organising a property seminar in what is the first of its kind with a mass-circulating English daily here. The seminar entitled "Seize the Fantastic Opportunity in the Real Estate Market at the Right Time" will be held at Far East's Icon Sales and Design Centre opposite Tanjong Pagar MRT station on Oct 14. The organisers have lined up some of the property market's most experienced and highly regarded experts. They include Mr David Neubronner, executive director at Savills Singapore; Ms Michelle Lim, partner and co-head of the Real Estate and Conveyancing Practice Group at Colin Ng & Partners; Mr Neo Keng Hoe, senior manager at Far East Organization; and Mr Gary Tan, assistant vice-president at DBS' Consumer Banking Group. The seminar comes at a most opportune time when the economy is strong, said Mr Chia Boon Kuah, the chief operating officer, Property Sales, at Far East Organization. The property sector has been doing well recently in line with the high economic growth here. "The economy is robust and growth is coming from every sector of the economy. This positive outlook is attracting many new international buyers and an increasing number of local savvy investors to ride the Singapore real estate growth story supported by the four pillars of development in Marina Bay, Orchard Road, Singapore River and Sentosa," said Mr Chia. As proof of the market's buoyancy, he pointed to the new prices achieved in the prime districts. This confidence, according to Mr Chia, is beginning to filter to the mid-market segment. Prices in some projects went as high as $2,900 per square foot in the third quarter of this year. "Since January this year, in our mid-market range of properties, our average monthly show-flat visitorship has increased from 200 to close to 600 in the last couple of months," said Mr Chia. The focus of the seminar will be on educating participants how to recognise and act wisely on the opportunities in Singapore's buoyant property market and how to find the financing that is most suitable for them. Today is the official media of the seminar while DBS is a co-sponsor. Seats, which are limited to 120 participants, will be on a first-come-first- Seminar participants will be given a show-flat tour after the seminar and reception during which refreshments will be served. Registration fees are $10 and goodie bags will be given to all attendees. To register, you can log on to propertyseminar@ | |
