I REFER to Mr Daniel Tan's letter, 'Deluge of unsolicited mail after condo deal' (ST, Sept 4).
Knight Frank Pte Ltd is committed to the confidentiality of our clients' information. We assure Mr Tan as well as any prospective purchaser that personal information provided by clients is meant strictly for the purpose of the sale transaction and conveyance of the residential properties concerned.
As Mr Tan rightly pointed out, there are data-mining companies which make available such information for sale to vendors for target marketing. We are not involved in any data-mining project with these vendors for the marketing of their services to our clients.
Other than data-mining companies, subscriptions to online products or services do generally make it possible for personal information to be circulated to related trade partners.
Mr Tan may also wish to know that names and addresses of property owners can be separately obtained from the relevant government agency for a fee.
