Crowds pack showflats at the launch of first DBSS project at Tampines

The first privately-developed HDB flats were oversubscribed within hours.

Thousands of home hunters stood in line as they waited for their turn to view the showflats at Tampines Avenue 6.

The developer of The Premiere@Tampines, Sim Lian Land, said it received 900 applications for the 616 units within the first 6 hours of the launch.

The project comprises a mix of 5-room, 4-room and four units of 2-room flats.

Buyers can expect to pay at least S$138,000 for a 2-room flat or up to S$450,000 for a 5-room unit while the going price for the 36 four-room flats will range between S$278,000 and S$410,000.

This is the first privately developed public housing under HDB's pilot Design, Build and Sell Scheme.

Interested buyers who meet HDB's eligibility criteria can submit their applications online before the 18th October deadline. - CNA/ch
