Havelock Road hawker centre to get $1.34m makeover By Satish Cheney, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 11 October 2006 1557 hrs SINGAPORE: Food lovers have reason to cheer. The popular hawker centre at Block 22A/B Havelock Road is set to get a $1.34m makeover. Built in 1969, the centre will reopen next April complete with a new lighting system as well as upgraded toilets and a new roofing system. The National Environment Agency started on the renovations on Wednesday. - CNA /dt
