URA hopes developer will build retirement housing at Jurong Kechil By Loh Kim Chin, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 13 November 2006 1858 hrs SINGAPORE: The Urban Redevelopment Authority is inviting developers to apply to put a residential property site at Jalan Jurong Kechil up for tender. It covers about one hectare - big enough for a 14,000-square metre development. However, it has a very short lease period of only 30 years. The site can be used to build either a condo or retirement housing. The URA is prepared to throw in incentives if the successful bidder chooses to develop a project for retirees, by allowing additional medical or communal facilities to be built on the land. - CNA /dt
